Oy, I hate exams. Granted, the ones I took today don’t really count quite so much since we still have to finish the classes and take the APs, but its still a pain.

The physics exam was just the short answer section from the 1998 AP exam…. and we had already done all but one of them over the course of the past two terms. I got a little wrong, I already know what, but I don’t really care. Oh, and I left at 9:15 when it started at 8:00…. two hour exam, but he gave us the full three hour slot. I did the same with calculus, one hour and fifteen minutes.

I think I did pretty much fine on the calculus. It was essentially what I expected to see, though I might have made a few mistakes here and there. What really surprised me during the exam though, rather than something on the exam itself, was the fact that someone was taken out about 30 minutes in…. apparently for cheating. I mean, I know I’ve heard about people cheating at Beaver before, but I’ve never actually seen them pull someone from a class for doing it.

Whatever though, its over now. All I need to do now is get something done for my independent study by Friday, and figure out how the hell I’m getting to rehearsal tomorrow. *sigh*

Oh well, only 4 poast left it looks like ;)

Well, its good to know that some of the craziness is sorted out. Its amazing what a misunderstanding can cause. I mean, I’m still not totally pleased with the way this worked out, but I don’t like to stay mad at people…. generally.

Of course, it does concern me that I seemed unapproachable. I mean, why would that be? Especially considering the question that caused all this, you’d think I’d expect to be approached about it! But whatever. Its in the past, and while I am not exactly thrilled with the current state of affairs, I guess I can deal with them in a way that doesn’t involve yelling at someone online and being a jerk in person.

Sorry for that, and I accept the apology you made from earlier. You know who you are.

Well gee, now I get to deal with these damned exams. Grr. Well, at least I know that if anyone gets a higher score than me in physics that I can report them for cheating. ;P

Well, given some new information and complications that have arisen, the ‘project’ has now been totally scrapped. It is unfortunate, granted, but that’s the way the universe crumbles.

Oh well, at least the stress of trying to pull that off is now gone.

Well, it looks like that system restart happened a few hours earlier than expected. I guess that’s a good thing since I need to study for Tuesday’s exams.

However, just because I can think again doesn’t mean everything is back to normal. In fact, I sincerely doubt that things are going to go back to normal any time soon given what happened on Friday. All I can say is that I feel sorry for the people who saw the show Friday rather than Thursday. That has got to be some of the worst lighting I’ve done in years. My confidence was shot, my concentration was out the window, and my ability to care what happened to the show was nowhere to be seen.

Now, after the events of Friday afternoon, there are several people that I would rather not be around for a little while…. and a smaller number that I would like to not even see for a very long time. Unfortunately, just about all of these people, in both groups, are people involved in the play. Ergo, I am going to have to deal with them. I swear though, they put one foot out of line…. they show me that kind of disrespect or arrogance again and I’m not sure I will be able to control myself again. And this time, those two people who helped me through Friday around to restrain me.

But yeah…. things are not going to return to normal any time soon…. and I’m still not sure how I feel about that right now.

Ok, so it looks like people are liking the play. Unfortunately, I am conflicted about wanting to go on once we get to the festival. On the one hand, I would love for them to love our play, since we worked so hard. However, I am also at the point where I almost want to intentionally make the play go over 40 minutes just so that we don’t have to keep doing it. Of course I would never do that, but I had a bit of a crisis today and so my brain is still recovering.

On that note…. thank you Marjorie. I don’t know what I would do without you!

Oh, and it looks like I might be scrapping the ‘project,’ or at least taking it under advisement. That’s all I’m going to say for now.

Yes boys and girls, today’s lesson is on reliance…. or, why its not good to rely on people.

Ms. Yolles called me this weekend, and part of our conversation was about my staying later than the call for rehearsal today(ending at 5ish). I was already planning to do this, staying till about 7, but she suggested that I ask some people to stay and help me. I thought this was a good idea, so I asked Dave and Julia to stay. After all, they are as close to other techies as you get on this show.

Now, they both agreed to stay on either Saturday or Sunday when I talked to them. Yesterday though, I talked to Dave and he said he couldn’t stay because his nephew are in town and tonight is the only night he can see them because of this play. Now, while I am unhappy about this, I respect why he wouldn’t stay, and I respect his telling me ahead of time.

Julia, on the other hand, I am pissed off about. She agreed to stay until at least 7 yesterday. Well, today she finds out that Dave isn’t staying, and thus she doesn’t have a ride. So, I offered to have my mother drop her off when I was retrieved. Of course, all of a sudden, she can only stay until 6. I would understand the fact that Dave was her ride, but I offered. I could understand a lot of things, but the fact that I was told that I would have help tonight, and suddenly She is unavailable (and that she only told me this when asked, not out of principal for having made a commitment), is totally out of line in my book. This show is a GROUP EFFORT, and I am being deserted by the group. I feel like it might have been better to just ask ACTORS than the people who are SUPPOSED to know what they are doing!

Just because I won an award in tech does not mean that I can do things single-handedly. I mean, look at what happens when I get stretched too thin….. we have problems like today’s run-through where the stools began top break. If I had been able to monitor my helpers, I would have known that they weren’t putting enough screws in the seats to stop them from SNAPPING OFF WHEN SAT UPON!

Do they think that maybe I don’t have important things to do? Hmm? Maybe I have an independent study that has gotten no attention because first I was sick and no I am working on this play APPARENTLY SINGLE-HANDEDLY?! Just because they have stuff to DOES NOT MEAN that I don’t have important things to do too! I need to study for exams, I need to work on my independent study. I need to apply for SIGGRAPH by Friday, I need to write a senior grant proposal, I need to get some rest so that this show can happen!

But I’m not mad… no. I’m just going to revel in the knowledge that the next time they need me to make a commitment, I will be wholeheartedly UNAVAILABLE!

Oh, and on a slightly related note, the second phase of the ‘project’ that I’ve been talking about (no, it is not this play) is in SERIOUS JEOPARDY at the moment.
