You gotta love it when you get invited to an event where you get to partake of free food (fried chicken, corn…ice cream! etc), and you manage to walk away with a gigantic container of gummy bears, eh? Or maybe I should call them gummy berchen (or however you spell that without strange symbols over the letters).
And while I’m here, I thought I would just mention that I’m soon making a perchase that will proved me with another 750 Gigs of space (and can eventually become 2 or 3 terabytes)…. and whats even better is that it can be accessed by multiple computers over a network, or even through the internet! So now my files will always be available to me so long as there is a computer with internet access! Aint that super? ;D
Oh, and remember… “if you dream you’ve got a purple dragon next to you, and you wake up and you’re dragon isn’t purple it is red…. you need an analyst, a phsycho-analyst” Thank Allan Sherman for that one :)

World’s thinnest laptop, by intel. Still a prototype, but it is as thin as a RAZR, and has all sorts of sweet features. Though it is probably going to cost more than my workstation….. But oh well. Some day they will be as powerfull as my workstation while still being that thin I bet! Now to find that time machine…. or I could just have a Bah’ro send me into the future!
Now where did I put my Tablet…… O_o

You know, making images for use with 3D glasses is kinda difficult when you don’t actually have any 3D glasses to test them with ;p. I supose a red and blue Rosco gel do work in a pinch though (R27 and R378 anyone ;D).
Oh well, at least I’m pretty good with steroscopic pairs… and you don’t need fancy glasses to look at those :)

This post piggybacks on the one from yesterday… you might want to read that first. I thought, dear readers, that I might give you a taste of the excellently done story in Myst Online; so I decided to put up the chatlog from yesterday. I cut out everything but the actors, so hopefully it all still makes sense. First a quick backstory:
Basically, Willoy (’Wheely’) Engberg and her friend Rose got caught in a cave-in. Michael Engberg, Wheely’s father, is a member of the D’ni Restoration Council (DRC)… the people who are ‘in charge.’ Cate Alexander is the one funding the restoration, so she is basically the one in charge of the council. Marie Sutherland is another member of the 5 person council. Victor Laxman, who is referenced at the end, is also on the council and is the one who understands/controls our communication devices (KIs). ResEng stands for Restoration Engineer… the people who do all the work and get none of the credit. And the Bah’ro (for those who didn’t play Myst 5) are creatures who are very powerful, but that we know little about. One seems to have been in the cavern with her, watching her for the past few days. It even seemed like it may have healed her at some point, but no one is certain. I think that should be enough backstory… When this starts, the DRC has been leading a rescue effort for around 2 days to dig from above and get her out:

You know, it never ceases to amaze me how real the stories in Cyan’s games can be. So tonight I pay tribute to two young explorers whose lives were lost tonight. Rose, who dies in the initial cave-in, and Wheely, who was killed through unknown circumstances while her father was on the rope to get down to her; after a day and a half of rescue opperations, whatever was in that room with her waited till she was fracking inches from rescue! But thats not why I’m writing this.
Gadren created the following in memorium:

And as the Wayists of Andromeda say:
“Eternal life grant unto them. And may perpetual light shine upon them”
And don’t say its just a game… I know that. Just paying my respects.

I spoke about controllers of the future, but never forget how the controllers of today actually work… clicky
(I didn’t realise it the first time, but there is indeed sound :p)

And no, I don’t mean an Ancient control chair (oh how I want one!)… erm, nevermind.
Anyway, this isn’t the sorta thing you might usually expect to see me post, but I came across this and decided it was too rediculous to pass up. So without furthur delay, I bring you the video game controller of tomorrow! (Careful, for some reason there are two videos that both start automatically when you open the page… kind of annoying)
Oh, and here you can see some of this person’s other crazy (or cool, depending on who you are) ideas… such as a system that will call you with an automatic phone conversation so it looks like you are more popular ;p.
