So you know what’s not fun? Sitting in a room for 5 hours listening to people bicker about who should be elected to what position and why?

Guess what I did last night? Thats right, LnL Exec Board elections. I mean, obviously its important, but its still kind of a pain.

Well, at least now the new council has been elected which means I can go put in that LnL rental order for the spring. I just hope that a new vice president doesn’t mean a huge jump in prices…..

Time to go study for CS exam tomorrow…. *sigh*

So, this afternoon I put down a deposit on an apartment for this June. Woot! The guy is very nice, and so is the place. 2 bedroom, with another small room thing, big kitchen where I convinced him to install a new gas stove, good bathroom that has laundry hookups…. I wont have to leave my place to do laundry! Off street parking, supermarket and store rated best bagels in Worcester across the street (as in, basically I walk out the door and I’m at the supermarket). Oh, and its less than 10 minutes to classes (less than 5 to campus).

And, its all to myself. No crazy roommates to get in the way. The only thing that would make it better is a disposal and a dishwasher, but I think I’ll live, heh. ;p

I’m not sure what else to say (partially due to my brain being mostly off line as I’ve woken up way before I was supposed to the last few days, and I’ve had to debug more code on my floor than I actually wrote for the damned project).

So, thats the news for the moment. Just as a side note, some time in the next few months both websites will be moving to a new server that should hopefully be more stable and have less downtime that what I use now. Did I already write that somewhere? O_o

Oh, and one other thing… we all know how much I love Ancient Drones…. well, now I’ve decided that even more than regular Drones, I want my own Mini-Drones! Now I just need that battle cruiser to arrive so I can get to the Pegasus galaxy and get some…. damned Fed-Ex ;p

I updated my online portfolio again, for those interested (and who didn’t see the new images on Facebook). There are 4 new images in the “Traditional” section (whose name may need to be changed…). They were (well, still are as I have yet to turn them in tomorrow) for a project in Digital Imaging class I’m taking (overkill much?). It was supposed to have something to do with autobiographical/self-portraity-ness, but I like what I made anyway ;p.

Time to watch the first new episode of Torchwood! Or maybe the Sara Jane Adventures…. Who knows?!

So right before break, they had us declare our majors so that we could be reassigned to advisers for those majors. I, of course, declared CS and IMGD, and I requested a professor that I had first term for IMGD (he’s quite awesome, and he probably knows more than most people here about both the IMGD major and the CS major). They said they would assign advisers over break.

Well, C term starts, and I still have my temporary adviser listed online. Of course, everyone else I ask on the floor has gotten a new adviser, so I was kinda worried (most people were already declared anyway… they apparently just kept having me fill stuff out and telling me on the phone that I would be declared IMGD, and yet after two years I was still “undeclared” when the August rolled around… but I digress). So finally today, I check online and lo and behold good news. I got the aforementioned professor for CS, and for IMGD I manged to get the head of the art department! Now granted the art department is only about 3 people big, and it didn’t exist 3 years ago, but still it seems like good news to me. I guess now I will have someone to actually listen to my suggestions about how the art classes need to be changed (maybe… I’m not holding my breath there).

Yay for being long winded!

Oh, and I’m sad because my access to Stargate has been (hopefully temporarily) cut off… along with lots of other stuff. The DNS servers don’t like me apparently (but what else is new?)

And one more thing: the other day I ordered (among lots of other Who related paraphernalia) a Time Lord fog watch…. with silly sound effects and everything, but it looks just like on the show and it is a real pocket watch (AKA, it tells you the time… after it turns you back into a Time Lord). Yay!

So I guess I should say something before midnight comes around, eh? Well, I’m 20 *gasp*… when did that happen? Oh, over the course of the last 20 years you say? Well, that makes sense… I suppose.

I still say the age difference is kinda weird here, but I guess thats my own fault for deferring a year. Not that I regret deferring, far from it in fact, but I’m just saying… For instance, I can’t speak to my being the oldest on the floor, but I am certainly older than most people including my two RAs. There are even some people who are only barely 18, which is just weird. But oh well, dems da breaks, eh?

Now, miraculously I somehow got 3 packages over the course of the day; One was the camera my from NewEgg that my dad got me, but the other two were assorted paraphernalia from my mother (you know, randomly purchased bathrobe, toiletry case, etc ;p). I had to trek across campus with these 3 rather large boxes, but I suppose that is the price you pay for getting stuff. At least I now have a good digital camera whose flash doesn’t take 1+ minutes to charge… and for which I can actually buy memory cards as SD cards aren’t likely to go out of production any time soon.

Oh yeah, and for those who don’t know, I am back on the Zak and Dakota project at the CDIA. Theres a funny story involved, but the gist of it is that I am currently tasked with turning my ‘frumpy’ Doctor (Who) model and turning him into a ‘nice’/'happy’ children’s doctor. Do you see the irony there? How I’ve now used this character on 3 projects? How I seem destined to only ever model the Doctor (either Timelord or MD)? Well, the joke about that last one is what caused Andrew to suggest repurposing the old model in the first place. Me and my big mouth, eh?

Well to start off, Happy New Year! Its been 2 years since I wrote something New Years Day, and I think the first time I said “Happy New Year”… I was a bit pre occupied two years ago ;p. This year was marked by my dad getting home from Anguilla, after Lilly apparently left their camera on the plane. And I don’t mean the plane from San Juan to here, no. I mean the plane from Anguilla to San Juan. The funny thing is, he brought his computer (but didn’t use it because he said there was no WiFi), so they could have copied all the pictures off in the first place. Maybe they’ll remember to do that next time.

In other news, I just had the strangest dream. I was put in front of a judicial board at school, though given the state of disorder I would say that it barely qualified. Hell, they tried to get me to sit on a couch with some of the people on the board to save space, and people were asking others about math homework. And then, get this, I woke up just before I was going to ask what I was formally being charged with, but from the few bits I remember I think it had something to do with a toilet seat being stuck up… because that would be a big deal in the real world, right?

So in reality, if I ever actually am put in front of a board like that, and the worst thing I’ve done was somehow be in the vicinity of a broken toilet seat, I think I’m ok, eh? ;p
