Have you ever been wrestling with a Fresnel that wont stay locked in place (just like all the other Fresnel’s you’ve been focusing all day), when you suddenly find that the Fresnel has gotten so hot that it has started to melt your glove? And to top it off, your finger is starting to meld with said melting glove?
Yeah, that just happened to me. It hurts. I decided that meant it was time to go home (also, it was midnight, which was another good reason.
Well, at least its going well; just a couple more pipes to focus. I just wish I could find a third person to help out tomorrow afternoon…. *sigh.* Well, at least Dan’s strong so as long as the pipes dont freak out and going flying off into nowhere, we should be fine.

So, great news. Apparently, Steven Moffat is going to replace Davies as the lead writer and executive producer of Doctor Who in 2009. Yays! He definitely writes the best episodes of the new series.
Oh, and my throat hurts :(

So Dave and I went to the annual machine gun show in Hanson, MA. I have to say, it was awesome! Dave even ended up shooting a grenade launcher for 5 bucks (with chalk in place of the boom bit, but still). He also shot this awesome fully-automatic shotgun. I was unable to shoot, as I am under 21. But now Dave and I are planning for next year when I can shoot, and I compiled a list of guns that I might want to shoot next year. The top of the list is the minigun (that 3000 rounds a minute for those who don’t know… the barrel spins and has a bunch of smaller barrels on it). The only problem there is that it costs $200 for 200 rounds of that one. Four seconds of total joy for $200…….
I think I need to just ask for cash for my birthday next year ;p

I forgot to say yesterday (or this morning, or whatever): there’s a YES concert in Boston this July! Now Marty may have stopped me the last time with that whole “go to the concert and no lights for you” thing, but not this time ;p. Got me some really good seats… erm, seat. Whatever.
Also, for anyone interested in the computer I mentioned, clicky. Or if you are more interested in videos of Dreamgirls, clicky 2.
And thirdly, I was just told that I’m the, um, majority designer since I’m the one with more time… you know, the whole college student with no job thing ;p.

Hey there dear readers (if anyone comes back), its been a while hasn’t it? Well, lets do a quick breakdown of whats been going on:
-Finished the ARG. Went well, though I was told that it was a bit too much like Myst (go figure O_o)
-Moved out of school
-Worked on Dreamgirls at Beaver. Went very well, once I displaced Adam Wing and programmed the whole thing myself. the Hog 500 is a very nice board.
-Bough a Boxx Technologies Special Edition workstation. 8 cores at 4Ghz, liquid cooled, kick ass workstation graphics card, dual boot with three hard drives (including a 10,000RPM raptor and a 1Tb drive). Just spent the night finding out that I can run games at the highest graphics setting without it even breaking a sweat.
The next thing is something you might not expect. I got another one of those emails from the Footlight club a few days ago, saying they needed a designer ASAP for a show going up in 2.5 weeks. After mulling it over, I decided to go for it and put my name in. As it turned out today, there was a miscommunication and the TD of the place had already taken the job by default last week. Well, I talked to Paul (said TD) and now I’m co-designing the show. Yays! Its one of those shows thats really a bunch of shorter shows (not quite a 10 minute play-fest, but similar idea), all around the idea of timing (the show is called ‘All In the Timing’). We’re basically gonna come up with a basic plot, and then split the scenes in half and each design the specifics of half the show. It should be interesting.
And who knows, maybe I’ll have a use for those 3 dimmer packs of mine… ;D
Here’s hoping I start writing again!
