Another One Gone
So now Atlantis has been canceled. Of course, they already plan to do a full length movie (ala ‘Ark of Truth’ and ‘Continuum’ for SG1) to wrap up the cliff-hanger. Then they are supposedly planning on-going Atlantis movies. No real info though, as there isn’t actually a press release yet, just this. I actually think this is be better, because of the way I like to watch Atlantis. A bigger budget and a longer format will be better, and its not like Doctor who (or old SG1) where I get upset about having to wait for a new episode; the stupid mid-season breaks that Sci-Fi loves got that out of my system real fast. So I am actually looking forward to some Atlantis movies, and hopefully some more SG1 movies.
The other cool thing is that they said the third series (’Stargate: Universe’, dealing with the 9th chevron and stuff from before when the Ancients were still the Alterans) was perpetually on the back-burner because it was too much to have two shows on the air AND do SG1 stuff on the side (so 3 shows). So now that the first two are just movies, they might get a green light on Universe.
*shrug* Who knows. I’m sure it’ll be fun to watch whatever comes out of this. And in the meantime, I just saw this week’s Eureka, and it has certainly grown to be a real show. Its not just silly jokes anymore, but they got real close to a tear-jerker this time.
Oh well, time for sleep so I can deal with Worcester stuff tomorrow (today) and the next day.
