I just heard back that I can’t TA (for pay) and get course credit at the same time. Oh well. I was offered the opportunity to TA next term, so I think I’ll take that. Thats how I figured this would work out anyway.

Oh, and my order from Shapeways arrived today. Unfortunately, my printed Jakmuni had some issues; it turns out that the detail was too small on the toes so the bases printed out separately from the bodies. Though, the bodies stand up fine on their own so I guess I didn’t need the bases (or the headache they made for me) in the first place. The bigger issue is that the wings broke off of both of them. The bigger one still has one wing, but the other three wings were lying in various parts of the (well packed) box. I guess I’ll let them know, because I’ve seen them offer reprints ever time someone says a model arrived broken. If they let me, I think I’ll just remove the bases (save them some material on the reprint) and then remove the hollow bit where the wings join the body to provide stability.

But they look awesome otherwise!

Now to kill another half hour before my IQP meeting. I guess I could go upstairs and get a flu shot like I had planned, but suddenly I don’t feel like paying 30 bucks to have someone inject me with a disease. *shrug*

It Official, David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who after the 2009-10 specials. He even says that he was tempted to stay when Moffat was chosen, but then he decided not to. *sadface*

Even staying for one year with Moffat would have been… “fantastic” or “brilliant” or even “Jelly-baby?”. Well, maybe not that last one, but you get where I’m going with this.

Its no secret that I’m certified in Maya (or at least trained, but doesn’t having a certificate by definition make one certified?). So, one might ask why I’m taking the 3D animation course here.

If you tried to read the blog the past few days, you probably had trouble in the form of it not loading. Apparently a pair of disks in the RAID array failed at my web host and it took them all that time to fix it. Now, in general, I like Site5, but thats twice in the past year that I’ve had multi-day downtimes; in fact, both times were due to RAID problems. I’ve now gotten two months of service credit, and its not like my pages tend to be critical, but its annoying.

You know that moment between cutting into your finger with a serrated knife and realizing that you cut into your finger with a serrated knife? You know, before the pain and blood start? Yeah, thats a good moment… everything after that moment is not so good though. I guess I’ve gotten a bit lax in my bagel cutting ways, or maybe I was overexcited about finally having bagels again. Or maybe it was that bit of the free salt bagel I got. Whatever the reason, ouch!

By the Maker… Robert’s Rules is a bloody HUGE book! And the font is so small! I’m glad I also got the concise version too, because I don’t think I can bring myself to read the full thing. I guess I better not go trying to start an organization anytime soon though.

On and unrelated note, while I give You-Do-It credit for still existing as an electronics supply store when most others have close (besides the big ones on the intarwebz), they still have a crappy selection! I couldn’t even find some of the ICs I was looking for, and the fact that all the 5% resistors come in packs of 50 is a pain.

Oh, and I stopped by Jerry’s with Dad today. My mom told me he was looking to get rid of a bunch of stuff before he moved to assisted living, but I was too lazy to call till this week (thats 2-3 weeks of not calling). He didn’t really have much left, and he said he wished I had called earlier so he could have held on to stuff for me; like a drill press and an band saw. I don’t know what I would have done with them (as far as storage), but it would have been cool to have them. I did get a bench grinder out of it though, so *shrug*

Stupid bagel place, changing their hours to close at 3:30 instead of 6. Now I have to go another day without bagels!

On an unrelated note, Stats wasn’t my only B. *shrug* Hopefully its just a minor dip instead of a gradual decline… *knock on wood*
