It finally occurred to me: I live by myself. I don’t entertain many visitors. Thus, I can drink from the carton. Granted, its not really something I am generally want to do, but it good to know for those rare occasions when dirtying a glass seems like a pain.
Heck, I already eat out of the yogurt container ;p

Well, all sorts of big name people died this week. Today, to top it off, Billy Mays kicked the bucket. Now who will try to sell me Oxyclean?
Oh well, at least we still have awesome videos like this.

Today was going great. I was working on Ayoheek and getting really far. Then, after dinner, I discovered that I suddenly had malware that made any link I clicked on google (in any browser) re-direct to other sites; and I couldn’t get rid of it. So I had to back up everything and re-install windows, which was made all the more difficult because of how Boxx setup my hard drives (the right way, but requiring a floppy with drivers for the Windows installer to work, which I had to figure out and make myself). I do this shit so often on my many computers that I’m getting fast, at least.
So now its just about 5am, and I didn’t want to be up super late tonight… but two things have suddenly made up for it:
First, I totally want to go to this restaurant!
Second… nano nano :D
Now for sleep.

In preparation for the trip, I am trying to figure out a way to syndicate posts from my primary blog to another that will only show posts about the trip. After all, there are people that want to read about the trip that I don’t really want keeping up with the regular blog (and thats no secret, they respect my wishes and don’t look for it). It looks like I have it working using the RSS feed from the Adventure category. It pulled the previous posts, now I’m writing this one to see how it does with new posts. We’ll see.

Just booked the BnB for my night in Minot. The woman on the other end seemed extremely nice, which fits with the reviews I’ve read about the Dakota Rose. I got myself the Master Suite :D
When she asked for my address, she was kind of shocked to hear I was traveling from the east coast, given the distance. I feel like I’m going to be getting a lot of that.
Time to go buy some chicken!

Clicky
This really sucks! I use that stuff every time I get a cold and it really helps. I suppose I can go back to the other versions, but they tend to taste terrible and have all sorts of requirements (no eating or drinking 15 minutes after, no citrus-related anything for 30 minutes on either side, etc)
In some of the comments, people point out that it may just be stupid folks misusing the product. But it seems like a risky thing to bank on that and risk my sense of smell…
Argh!

Tonight, I booked the last two trains (to/from Chicago), and mostly finished the hotels. All that’s left is Minot (last stop before Chicago on the way home). The town doesn’t really have much to offer that looks all that great, but there is an interesting Victorian bed and breakfast. I’ve never been to a BnB, but I guess this whole trip is about new experiences. I sent them an email checking availability, and they said to call, so I’ll do that tomorrow (memory permitting).
I decided to leave Sunday the 19th, arriving in Chicago on the 20th. This way I’ll have a night to stay in a hotel between the 22hr train and the 33hr train to Salt Lake. On the way back, I get in to Chicago around 4pm on August 8th, and leave at 9pm on the 10th. That gives me a couple of days to do some fun stuff.
But thats not all. I splurged a lot for that last part of the trip. Two nights, in the fucking Hard Rock Hotel! And not even a basic room! I figure, you only live once (even if you think you might be a Timelord), and when am I going to stay in the Hard Rock Hotel again? Granted, I didn’t go for the things that are super top of the line ($1100+ for two nights?! Or even $3000?! No way.), but its still kind of insane. Then again, compared to what I paid for the roomette from Boston to Chicago (and another back), its a bargain….
Remind me not to buy anything for a while after this trip…
