Check out this article about the Museum of Jurassic Technology. This place souds totally awesome, and I want to go. Sadly, it is in LA, otherwise known as that place that I never want to go to again.
Oh well, I guess I’ll have to make do with watching Warehouse 13
I finally watched the finale to Quantum Leap today. They really did a nice job with it, I think; filling the bar with faces and names from the series, and the whole mystery of the bartender. Very cool. Very sad too. Sam’s decision to go back and tell Beth about Al was an interesting choice, especially considering that the producers originally intended that to be a season clifhanger and not a series finale. It was already established that the project would still happen without Al, but the show wouldn’t be the same. It would have been interesting to see how Al, and his relationship with Sam, would have changed after not losing Beth.
Oh well, I suppose that’s neither here nor there. Still, it was a great show, despite what come people seem to think, and I’m sad that its over. And not just because now I need to figure out something else to watch with breakfast.
I’m going to go play with Zbrush.

Went to the dentist today… somehow I always manage to only go once a year, despite my best intentions. No issues save for some sort of trauma to one of my gums that started a few months ago. Aparently, the key is to *not* fuck with it if you want it to heal… who knew ;p
I’ve been trying to stay away from spoilers until I see the new Star Trek movie… but I fucked up. I was reading an article on io9 about the best ***** in scifi (don’t really remember what). Well, apparently I would have know there was a spoiler in it somewhere if I had read more than the first sentance or two of the into, but I skipped to the meat of the article. Big mistake.
Lets just say that I read about an explosion that has rather severe consequences for the overall timeline. Now of course, for those who know what I’m talking about, my reaction was one of conflicting thoughts. Some mixture of ‘WTF?’, ‘why did I read that?!’, ‘wait, that can’t be right’, and ‘how the hell can he do that?!!’. Its really annoying to know that before seeing the movie, but at least maybe the lack of surprise well help me to keep down the anger when I see it.
ugh.

Ever hear of Lensman? Aparently it is the grand-daddy of all sci-fi that includes space police. And it had the Arisians, from Arisia.
The more you know ;D

So get this: they brought in people from BSG to speak at this thing at the UN. It was a talk comparing the issues that appear in Galactica to real-world issues that the UN tries to address. They had a panel moderated by Whoopie Goldberg, with both BSG people and a guy from the UN. They also had about 100 high-schoolers with questions that they could pose.
I’ve only watched a little of it (its 2 hours they say), but its so surreal! Especially when Olmos (Adama) gets everyone to do the “So Say We All” chant… on the floor of the bloody United Nations!
Crazy! Here’s a link.
